She had been on a six-week foil cycle for four years and was tired of it. The fix is not a lighter colour, it is a darker root: a shadow at level five, melted so there is no edge to catch the eye when it grows.

The lengths are lifted and toned cool, nothing warmer than a .1, and the transition is done wet at the backwash where I can actually see it. Fourteen weeks later it looks like a decision rather than a lapse.

A two-chair room above the simit oven on Akarsu Yokusu. Colour built for the grow-out, cuts done dry, six clients a day at most - so nobody sits in foils waiting for me to come back. Colour consultations are free and take twenty minutes.
